The story CHELLE'cle
HELLO!
Call me CHELLE. My real name is Rochelle M. Romero.
I learned about TSC when four of your members (Nomer and TJ are the first two to approached then followed by Justin and Sam) "crashed" the table that my friend and I were sitting at STARBUCKS TRINOMA, dated October 31-November 1, 2008 (we left the place around 2 am of the 1st of November)
Justin became a good friend of mine. ( T.J and Sam eventually, became my friends too). We're not really talking about me, joining TSC before, until he saw me (unexpectedly) at your gathering at STARBUCKS Araneta and introduced me to some TSC members present there. To name a few, that I can remember, there's Ate Nikie, Kuya JC, Germaine, Carl, Noiz, Jeison, JD (Darkmaiden), (was Karlo and Rikki there?) and others whom I can no longer remember, please let me know if I missed out on you. It was just an exchange of "hi" and "hello". However, when the topic that I do read TAROT CARDS, came into the open that is where everything started. I was also able to meet Kuya Harry, Kuya Mark, Jacian (did I spell it right?) and Russel (TSC South, June 13-14.Cavite) Before, I was hesitant to register at the forum, for I am not yet that "good" in executing card tricks, however because these people are encouraging me to join, (being supportive and all that )I then decided to do the first step in unlocking the doors to MAGIC; with the hope that TSC people will welcome me with an open heart and readiness to guide me as I walk in my JOURNEY TO THE WORLD OF TAAADAAA! (ABRA, KADABRA, ALAKAZAM)!
I originally came from Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro: and is currently residing somewhere in Mandaluyong.
About my "magical background", I would say, that I started by being a mere spectator, (yet not by magic performed by clowns, I have “Coulrophobia”, sob sob sob ... sorry Alvin, I’ve heard things about you, yet I am not sure if I am looking forward to our meeting) When I was young, I will always be called by my uncles to watch card tricks performed at the so called “round table” during their weekly drinking sessions. I was able to learn a trick when I was in Grade 4. (though, now, I realized that it's not a trick after all) It's the story about 4 kings, 4 queens, 4 jacks and 4 aces: a story that occurred in 1948, during one stormy night. Well, not to brag, every time I am performing it to my friends, I got to gain, "WoW!". (i'll asked my big brother, though, if he still remember it, for I think I have totally forgot how to execute it). However, I should say that my MAGIC really is with TAROT CARDS. That is how everything really started, as early as February of 2009. Though I am well aware that being a TAROT CARD READER differs very much from that of being a MAGICIAN, still I believe that they do resembles certain CHARACTERISTICS AND PERSONALITIES. BOTH PUT A HEART IN THEIR CRAFT. J
I was asked by Justin, why do I want to learn magic, I simply told him that I wanted to put a smile on the faces of the people around me: regardless of where I am. (Just like how, they have made my friend and I smile the night that we met them.) (same reason, why I do tarot card reading). Good thing, I was able to say the words he wanted to hear and said that he “should” be my MENTOR, and I am more than thankful. He also taught me what really a magician’s NUMBER ONE TOOL is. AND we both agreed that the key to learning is by OPENING your HEART. ("you may not be aware that your heart is close, OPEN it UP)
I am learning a trick or two from almost all magicians, I got to meet: SIS Maine, ate Nikie, kuya JC, kuya Mark, Jacian, Jeison, and kuya Rikki (we learned the untouchable from you, right?) They help me practice. THANKS!
I am studying card tricks by:
1. listening attentively to the tips being shared to me by the above mentioned people.
2. practicing even while sleeping (ate Nikie can attest to that)
3. watching videos of card execution (not from you tube, though I must admit I started there)
4. learning from the experts; my mentor. (please see # 1)
I am more into card magic; it is attuning to me better than any other forms (especially GEEK) I started with a swing cut, false shuffle, double and triple cut, grips, pinky break, DL, TL and other card basics. I am practicing on my mercury JACKS (not aces, because JACK of hearts is my favorite card) and four other card tricks that I have learned. I am working hard and passionately to become an effective “cardician” and I would wanted to enjoy doing "twist, twist coin" as well, maybe in a year or so from now. Just like what they always say, TAKE ONE STEP AT A TIME. Let me thank you in advance as well for waking up my bygone inclination and letting me see, what a wonderful world, this place can turn out to be. CHEERS!!!
May GOD bless us all!
