1. Who are you? What's your name? Nickname?
My name is Mac Florendo, call me Mac.
2. How did you learn about TSC? What do you know about TSC?
I learned about TSC through a local magic group when I was still in Zamboanga.
I watched a show with Anthony Andres and Jeffrey Tam when they visited the city.
And then, through Youtube.
3. Who invited you? Please name member. (if applicable)
4. Where you're from.
I was born and raised in Zamboanga City. I moved to Dumaguete City for college. And now, based in Makati for work.
5. Background in magic. When did you start?
The first time I saw magic was from uncles and cousins. It always got me mesmerized and it really got me interested. I had to learn at least one trick!
I was probably 8 years old when I started reading magic books from the school library during my lunch breaks.
Then of course, from TV...David Blaine specials, Mondo Magic with Chris Korn and JB Benn, and Cyril.
It was difficult learning magic in the province since there are few resources... until there was the internet!
6. Why/Where do you want to perform magic.
I perform magic for a simple fact that it makes me happy, and it makes me think.
The sense of wonder only makes sense when it is shared... then it becomes even more powerful with storytelling.
7. Who are your mentors and/or how do you study your craft?
I study magic by learning a lot from performances, art, movies, music. I read books on psychology, self branding, marketing, story telling.
Basically absorb any kind of information and try to incorporate it to magic performances.
I hope I eventually meet mentors from TSC.
8. What type of magic are you into?
Close up magic
Salamat!
